John O’Callaghan is an associate professor of Philosophy at the University of Notre Dame, the director of the Jacques Maritain Center, and a permanent member of the Pontifical Council on Thomas Aquinas. He will explore the relationship between Terrence Malick’s film The Tree of Life and the Confessions of St. Augustine. The Tree of Life won the Palme d’Or at Cannes, and was nominated for three Academy Awards. The presentation will follow the 3:00 p.m. screening of the film. Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
